Public Hospitals Intervening in Attorneys General Deal

Bill Godshall reports:

Attorneys representing public hospitals are preparing to, or have already filed petitions with courts in MO, OH, KY, TN, CO, MI, WV & PA to intervene in the AG tobacco deal.

Under the deal, public hospitals would be preempted from recovering past, present or future damages to reimburse treatment of diseases imposed by tobacco industry misconduct.

Those seeking court intervention on behalf of the hospitals include the St Louis based firm of Lashly & Baer, PC and Ohio based Jack Beam & Associates.
