Missouri Judge Delays State's Settlement
St. Louis Circuit Judge Jimmie Edwards said that he would delay
Missouri's tobacco settlement until he determines if the deal illegally denies local governments and
hospitals the right to seek further damages.
A verdict is expected in 45 days. Last week, St. Louis, Kansas City, and 53 hospitals filed a motion to
intervene in the settlement.
