Favor Settlement Money For Antismoking Programs
A poll of registered Nevada voters found that 79% favored
allocating a significant portion of the state's tobacco
settlement for efforts to reduce youth smoking.
The poll was conducted by Mason-Dixon Research for the American Cancer
Society.
"Health care for seniors and efforts to reduce tobacco
use among kids are favored by eight out of 10 Nevadans," said
Dan Geary of the Cancer Society.
"Nevada's elected officials
should study these results carefully and enact the state's
first comprehensive tobacco control program."
