Nevada Legislature To Fund Scholarships, Health Programs With Tobacco Money
The Nevada Legislature agreed late Monday to spend the state's
tobacco settlement money on college scholarships and health
programs.
Forty percent of the money will be used to pay for
state college scholarships for high school students with at
least a "B" average.
The Legislature also agreed to use 50% of the settlement on health programs, with 10%
going specifically to tobacco control.
